About Us

Dakshin Gurgaon Puja Committee, Gurgaon (DGPC), an association of around 200 + member families residing in South City II, Nirvana Country, Rosewood City, South End, Mayfield Garden, Orchid Petals, Park View City, Malibu Towne, Vipul Greens, Uni-world Gardens and adjoining up market residential area in and around Sohna Road. The association was formed in the year 2004 with a few members and gradually increased to many manifolds. The association has been registered under Societies Registration Act in the year 2009-10 and is currently having its Registration No. HR 018 2013 00945. The aims & objectives of the association are to uphold the culture and traditions of mainly the Bengali Community inter alia by holding ‘Durga Puja’, ‘Kali Puja / Diwali’, ‘Saraswati Puja / Basant Panchmi’ and observance of such important events by organizing social get-together, cultural activities, and other community services to create a bond of togetherness within the society.

This year DGPC is celebrating Durga Puja for Eighteenth year in succession at South City – II, Nirvana Country, Gurgaon on 12th. 13th. & 14th. October 2021. The Durga Puja celebration by DGPC is considered to be one of the biggest celebrations in Gurgaon. It has been adjudged as the winner of the ‘Best Durga Puja Pandal’ Contest in 2009; 2011 & 2014 adjudged by “The Times of India”. The members of the Committee consist of well-established professionals, engineers, doctors, bankers, and executives staying in the residential colonies / apartments in Sector– 47, 48, 49, 50 & 51, Gurgaon.

The ‘Executive Committee’, the elected body of DGPC always thrives for excellence in celebrating ‘Durgotsav’ from its inception. ‘Durgotsav’ is basically an utsav not only limited to Puja but also includes socializing, participation in co-curricular activities conducted during daytime, Bhog distribution, Evening cultural programs and attending evening Food Court serving mouthwatering delicacies. Apart from noted Bengali Cultural Artists like Rupankar, Srikanta Acharyya, Indranil Sen, Swagatalaxmi, Subhamita, Jojo & others, many Bollywood Celebrity Artists like Bappi Lahiri, Sudesh Bhosle, Kumar Sanu, Monali Thakur, Usha Uthup, Alka Yagnik, Javed Ali, Jaspinder Narula, Madhushree and many more have shared the stage of DGPC with their mesmerizing performances.

It will not be out of place to mention that Musical Bands are always close to the hearts of Bengali cultural loving groups and the Executive Committee of DGPC has organized performances of renowned ‘Bands’ like Euphoria, Indian Ocean, Bhumi, Dohar & others in the ‘Durgotsav’ platform in last couple of years. All these things happened as a result of dedicated team efforts extended by the Executive Committee members with active support & contributions received from the members and the Sponsors.

Advertising decisions of Corporates are driven by a sense of how well to position their products or services so that they will attract the largest attention with minimum cost. Corporates are constantly trying to use more and more innovative means of branding for promotion of their products. Today advertising in social celebrations and gatherings like Diwali & Durga Puja are areas where product promotion is making huge impacts. More and more brands are getting attracted to this new way of brand promotion with personal & one-to-one interaction with the end users. Corporates like MARUTI SUZUKI, SAMSUNG, PEPSI, COKE, MOTHER DAIRY, UNITECH, NISSAN, AIRTEL, WHIRLPOOL and so many other brands have already explored this avenue in the past with DGPC and found response much beyond their level of expectations.

Apart from the above, DGPC has also associated in various Social Service / Community activities like distribution of free Bhog / Prasad during the Puja Days, using the platform for cultural performance by underprivileged children and also distributes Blankets, Clothing, collected from the member families to the needy sections of the society during Durga Puja and Diwali days.
